BREAKING: Cowboys Have Their Eyes on the 2025 Draft’s Freak Athlete at RB — Fans Are Buzzing

Henderson may be the perfect fit on paper — but Ashton Jeanty could make the Dallas Cowboys worst kept secret vanish in an instant.

The Cowboys’ running back room is still missing a long-term difference-maker. And if you’ve been paying attention … you know that their interest in finding one might be the worst kept secret this side of the Mississippi.

Oh, and just for the record: the Cowboys have been eerily quiet on the Ashton Jeanty front and that’s definitely not nothing.

More on that later.

TreVeyon Henderson is more than just a name to watch, too, though— and even he might be the second-worst-kept secret this side of the Mississippi right along side Omarion Hampton.

Most people focus solely on Henderson’s combine numbers, athleticism, and home-run ability, but we’re gonna take a slightly different angle today.

A little more “under-the-hood” if you will.

TreVeyon Henderson was the most athletic running back at the 2025 NFL combine which is very impressive even though not everyone participated.

  • 40-Yard Dash: 4.43 seconds
  • 10-Yard Split: 1.52 seconds
  • Vertical Jump: 38.5 inches
  • Broad Jump: 10 feet, 8 inches

It’s also worth noting that Henderson’s teammate and fellow Cowboys 30-visit, Quinshon Judkins, along with Omarion Hampton (also a Cowboys 30 visit) tested in the 98th and 99th percentile respectively athlete according to Math Bomb’s Relative Athletic Score (RAS).

While Henderson was widely viewed as the most athletic running back at the Combine based on NFL.com’s raw testing metrics, RAS takes into account a player’s height and weight — two areas where Henderson’s smaller frame slightly lowered his overall score to 94th percentile.

Oh — and Ashton Jeanty didn’t test, so while Henderson was technically the most athletic RB at the Combine… that only tells part of the story.

That distinction helps explain the nuance: Henderson may have the better burst and explosiveness, but Judkins brings elite measurables at size. Still, both backs clearly fit the Cowboys’ mold — explosive, versatile, and physical with the ball in their hands.

But what they don’t mention is what might matter most: he’s physical. He’s tough in pass protection, and he can catch the football. Exactly the identity Brian Schottenheimer has been candid about looking for in his “ideal back.”

Yes, Dallas added Miles Sanders and Javonte Williams, but neither is under contract beyond this season. Sanders, now 27, is likely the odd man out for age and/or contract purposes. And you don’t push out guys like Deuce Vaughn and Hunter Luepke — who bring niche value — for a league average talent on a one-year rental.

As much sense as TreVeyon Henderson would make on day two, just keep in mind the Cowboys have been eerily quiet on the Ashton Jeanty front. And if he somehow makes it to pick 12, he’s your guy.

And at some point in the first 2 rounds, either way … we think you’ll have a new and highly athletic guy.
