You are here: Home/ Sports/ NFL/ Top RB Prospect Is Visiting With Chiefs Today

The Kansas City Chiefs faced significant challenges with their ground game throughout last season, repeatedly watching rushing attempts collapse behind the line of scrimmage when they needed them most.
This glaring weakness appears to be a top priority for the organization heading into 2025.
The search for improvement has brought Miami Hurricanes standout Damien Martinez to Kansas City for a two-day visit.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz broke the news about this pre-draft meeting, noting that Martinez has also met with other teams showing interest in his talents.

Martinez emerged as a dominant force in college football during 2024, accumulating impressive numbers with the Hurricanes.
His 1,002 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on just 159 carries showcased an efficient, explosive running style that caught scouts’ attention nationwide.
What makes Martinez particularly appealing is his complete skill set.
He combines speed with power while displaying exceptional vision to find running lanes others might miss.
These attributes helped him consistently break tackles and exploit defensive gaps throughout his collegiate career.
For the Kansas City Chiefs, adding Martinez could provide another dynamic element to their already potent offense.
While Patrick Mahomes continues to dazzle through the air, a multi-dimensional back like Martinez would bring balance and unpredictability.
His receiving abilities make him especially valuable in Andy Reid’s system, which frequently utilizes running backs in the passing game.
The timing seems right for Kansas City to invest in the position.
Mahomes shouldered an extraordinary offensive burden last season, generating 72.5% of the team’s total yardage – the highest percentage among all NFL quarterbacks.
Perhaps more concerning for the Chiefs: they currently lack reliable running back depth contracted beyond the 2025 season.
