Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce decided to skip the desert festival this year. After making headlines with their surprise appearance at Coachella last year, many Swifties are wondering why the It couple weren’t there for weekend one.
Last year, Travis raved about the festival on his podcast New Heights after attending it with the Lover musician. The couple roamed around the festival grounds and even enjoyed performances in the pit with the rest of VIP attendees to see acts like Jack Antonoff’s band Bleachers and Ice Spice. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end said he preferred blending in with the crowd because he and Taylor “like to see it front from the fans’ perspective, like the people that actually like—because I am [one]…I’m a fan of the music. I’m a fan of live shows. I want to see it from the front of the stage. Yeah, we probably could’ve finessed it that way [watching backstage], but I think it’s just that much more of an experience if you’re in the pit, man. If you’re in the madness with all the fans. It was awesome though.”

A source previously told Page Six earlier this month that the couple is taking it slow, despite being bombarded with breakup rumors after Travis’ Super Bowl loss and Taylor completing her Eras Tour. “A lot of their time is spent at home just relaxing. Despite their fame, they’re really just like any other couple,” the insider said. “They like to cuddle on the couch and watch movies, play board games, spend time with family, cook dinner together and just hang out,” the source added, which sounds to us not just like any other couple, but like any other happy couple.”
“This is such a nice escape for them to finally be able to stay out of the limelight for a bit before they eventually have to get out in the public eye again due to their careers,” the outlet also added. They really cherish this time while they can because they know it can’t last forever.“
Even though they didn’t attend weekend one of the festival, there’s always hope for them attending weekend two. Weekend one is always known for being the time when influencers and celebrities attend, while weekend two is much calmer with music fans. Celeb couples who were spotted at the festival included Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti, Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, and Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz.
