FRISCO – The 2025 NFL Draft class has a deep wide receiver pool with some prospects projected to come off the board in the first 10 picks. While the Dallas Cowboys will not make their first selection within that range, one of their first few selections will likely draw from this wide receiver crop. However, some unsettling news coming out of Frisco Thursday has shaken up the outlook of when these players will hear their name called.
Texas product Isaiah Bond turned himself in to Frisco Police “for a matter related to an outstanding warrant for sexual assault,” as Frisco PD told NFL media’s Ian Rapoport. He posted bond and was released, per Rapoport. Bond is a widely projected a late first- or second-rounder with the versatility to help an offense from out wide or in the slot, making him a potential target for a team like the Cowboys. Dallas is in need of a receiver and Bond’s profile makes him an ideal candidate to possibly take on the No. 2 role behind CeeDee Lamb.
As NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein notes in Bond’s draft profile, the receiver oozes potential and could be a contributor very quickly upon his arrival in the pros. “Bond is an explosive athlete with above-average skill. He simply needs more targets to reach his potential. He’s well-suited to the NFL game and could become a very good pro within his first three seasons.”
This developing story and disturbing charge could impact his stock in a significant way as more details come to light. However, very little is known about the incident itself. Bond played at Texas for one season after transferring from Alabama. He tallied 534 receiving yards in 2024 on 34 catches with five touchdowns. He dealt with some injury issues toward the end of his campaign that limited his activity down the stretch.
