Peterson, 30, made his MLB debut with the Los Angeles Dodgers last year, pitching in 11 games before ending up with the Miami Marlins where he saw actions in five games. During the offseason he spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays before ending up with the Los Angeles Angels after a series of waiver claims.

Born in the U.K., Peterson was a 17th round draft choice by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2015 – the fourth consecutive year he was selected in the draft.

He pitched in one game at Triple-A with the Angles this season before his trade. He adds depth to a Gwinnett staff that has sent Bryce Elder and Zach Thompson to Atlanta after Jesse Chavez was recalled and subsequently designated for assignment by Atlanta.

In his limited appearances last season, he average 97 MPH on his fastball. He struck out 12 batters per nine inning with a 0.758 WHIP in 35 games at Triple-A last season.
