How Patriots’ loss to Titans impacts their first-round draft pick in 2025

The New England Patriots were unable to beat the Tennessee Titans in Week 9, and instead will leave Nashville with a 20-17 overtime loss in their luggage. As a result of that latest defeat, the Patriots are now 2-7 on the year and solidified their standing as one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Their current draft position also reflects that: according to Tankathon, the Patriots are back in the No. 1 spot with the early window of Sunday games in the rear-view mirror.

The team already held that position earlier in the season, but dropped back to No. 3 following last week’s victory over the New York Jets. Obviously, other teams have the potential to jump ahead of them; the Miami Dolphins in particular stand out as a club to move up given their current strength of schedule relative to the Patriots’ (and the rest of the NFL).
