Braves officially release 2025 Opening Day Roster

The Atlanta Braves have finally and officially released their Opening Day Roster for the upcoming season, which is set to start in just a few hours’ time. If you’ve been paying attention (or you were at least on this particular website earlier today when we dropped our annual yearbook-style Opening Day roster post), there should be very few surprises on this list.

Here’s the post from the Braves themselves:

Here’s the roster in text form, as taken from the press release that the Braves themselves just dropped:

26-Man Roster

PITCHERS (13): LH Aaron Bummer, RH Enyel De Los Santos, RH Daysbel Hernández, RH Grant Holmes, RH Raisel Iglesias, RH Pierce Johnson, LH Dylan Lee, RH Reynaldo López, RH Héctor Neris, LH Chris Sale, RH Spencer Schwellenbach, RH AJ Smith-Shawver, LH José Suarez

CATCHERS (2): Drake Baldwin, Chadwick Tromp

INFIELDERS (5): Ozzie Albies, Nick Allen, Orlando Arcia, Matt Olson, Austin Riley

OUTFIELDERS (5): Bryan De La Cruz, Michael Harris II, Jarred Kelenic, Jurickson Profar, Eli White

DESIGNATED HITTER (1): Marcell Ozuna

There are only 13 players here on Opening Day for the Braves who were there back on Opening Day 2024, with six of these players (Drake Baldwin, Grant Holmes, Daysbel Hernández, Spencer Schwellenbach, AJ Smith-Shawver and Chadwick Tromp) making an Opening Day roster for the very first time in their career. It’s also very interesting that three of those players figure to be in the rotation for the upcoming season as well, which tells you how much trust they are putting in these relatively new faces to come up big for them to start the season.

These are the 26 players who the Atlanta Braves are going to be rocking and rolling with to start the season. Now all attention can go from the roster to the field as the Braves get set to square off with the Padres to get this thing going.
