HOT NEWS: Cowboys, Cooper Kupp Rumors Receive Major Update on Wednesday

The Dallas Cowboys’ offense struggled in 2024, ranking 21st in points per game (20.6) and 17th in total yards per game (328.4), meaning they enter the offseason with a chance for serious improvement. One name they could target is wide receiver Cooper Kupp, who was released by the Los Angeles Rams, with Benjamin Allbright of KOA Colorado revealing that the Cowboys are “in the mix” for the 31-year-old veteran.

However, that was directly contradicted on Wednesday after reporter Jane Slater of NFL Network said that, per her source, Dallas is, in fact, “not in the mix right now.”

The Cowboys, though, could certainly use someone like Cupp, who, in 12 games for the Rams in 2024, accumulated 67 receptions, 710 yards and six touchdowns on 100 targets.

Those numbers are already better than the Cowboys’ second-most efficient wide receiver from last season, Jalen Tolbert, who in 17 games was targeted 79 times, reeling in 49 receptions for 610 yards and seven touchdowns.

With Kupp now hitting the open market, the Cowboys wouldn’t have to take too much of a risk to land him, as Spotrac predicts he will sign just a two-year contract worth $21.9 million.

Even then, though it would be a very uncharacteristic move from the Cowboys, who have not signed an external free agent to a contract worth over $10 million a year since defensive end Greg Hardy in 2015 (one-year, $11.3 million).
