Travis Kelce‘s recent relationship advice on his podcast New Heights raised eyebrows, as he offered some candid suggestions to a listener facing a lull in his marriage. Chatting with his brother Jason, Kelce shared playful ideas like trying “role play” and suggested a trip to Spencer’s for some novelty items to rekindle the romance.
The advice didn’t sit well with some fans of his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who found his approach “disrespectful.”
Despite the backlash, sources close to Swift, 34, say she wasn’t troubled by Kelce‘s comments. Those familiar with the singer’s perspective noted that Travis‘ intentions were purely lighthearted, adding that she appreciates his humor and open-minded approach to relationship topics.
“Taylor doesn’t have a problem with it,” a source told DailyMail.com.
“Nobody close to Taylor thinks badly of Travis. They are all 100 per cent supportive.
“His comments about his sex life were not said in a creepy way, he was being honest.
“Travis has a healthy relationship with Taylor. He’s smart enough to not put his foot in his mouth and say or do something stupid to derail that. What he said was appropriate.”
In addressing a listener’s challenge with intimacy, Kelce‘s advice highlighted his playful side, which, according to insiders, shows his romantic nature and his efforts to support those navigating relationship struggles.
“I will personally mention that I have no idea what that’s [like],” Travis said.
“Maybe just try to get some candles, get some rose petals, try and be a little romantic.
“Set the mood a little bit more. Maybe you just gotta rekindle that flame a little more.
“Get that thing going, take her to a nice restaurant. These are all things I would try and do.
“Women, they’re weird. They don’t just always want to have sex.
“I don’t know why, they don’t operate on the same wavelength as us… Women like to be sought after.”
Fan reaction to Kelce’s comments
While some fans may have found the comments too forward, Kelce‘s focus was on sharing practical, if unconventional, ideas to keep things interesting in a relationship.
