Chiefs Announce Major Decision on $32 Million WR in NFL Free Agency Read more at:

After losing to the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, the Kansas City Chiefs enter the offseason with a chance to improve their roster. They can approach this in a few ways, whether by signing new players in free agency, building up in the 2025 NFL Draft, or even retaining their own players with expiring contracts.

Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was one player the Chiefs were bracing to hit the open market until signing him to a one-year deal worth up to $11 million, which could add nicely to his already $32.2 million career earnings. Now, on Tuesday, the Chiefs officially announced the move with a social media post captioned “Credits ain’t rolling yet. We’ve officially re-signed @Primetime_jet!” Credits ain’t rolling yet.

We’ve officially re-signed @Primetime_jet! pic.twitter.com/ccXUt80eBE — Kansas City Chiefs (@Chiefs) March 11, 2025 This is now the second year in a row that Brown has joined Kansas City on a one-year deal, but unfortunately appeared in just five games in 2024, including the playoffs after suffering a sternoclavicular injury that required surgery. Even when he did return, though, his usage was limited, being targeted 28 times and accumulating 14 receptions, 141 yards and zero touchdowns.

However, if Brown can return to putting up similar numbers as his 2021 season, the only year he’s started at least 16 games, racking up 91 receptions, 1,008 yards and six touchdowns, he could become a force in the Chiefs’ offense.
