The Dallas Cowboys should have a better idea of what they want to do in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the NFL Combine illuminated which players Jerry Jones should have in his crosshairs. Brian Schottenheimer may try to influence the strategy as much as he can to build himself a dynamic offense.
With Dak Prescott facing an immensely important season as Dallas tries to compete for a division title, the Cowboys may need to cash in many of their proverbial chips as they can to put contenders like the Commanders and Eagles on notice that they can’t discard their old rivals just yet.
The Cowboys could use all of their top picks on offensive players in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they may not come out that much worse for the wear. If they attack their defensive weaknesses in free agency, Dallas could beef up their skill positions around Prescott with premium draft capital.
Dallas Cowboys all-offense 3-round NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 12: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
While it seemed like Ohio State’s Emeka Egbuka and Missouri’s Luther Burden III were battling it out for the title of WR2 in this class behind Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan, Golden’s blazing 4.30 40-yard dash might be enough to separate him from the rest of the pack and demand Will McClay’s attention,
Golden’s blazing speed and natural route-running should make him a perfect addition to Dallas’ passing game, and the combination of him and CeeDee Lamb together could overwhelm defensive backfields in the NFC. After last year’s debacle, Prescott would land a viable No. 2 wide receiver.
Round 2, Pick 44: Marcus Mbow, IOL/OT, Purdue
The Cowboys need an offensive lineman (or three) that can help ease the sting of Zack Martin’s retirement, and they may need to use a Top 50 pick in that area to begin the process. Offering both tackle and guard versatility, Mbow’s power will be the standout trait that helps get teams like Dallas interested.
With the aggression and mobility that teams will like to see, Mbow could be a solid tackle prospect with room to grow in the Dallas offense. The Cowboys have historically bet on traits when it comes to developing offensive linemen, and that philosophy could lead them to take a standout like Mbow higher than most project.
Round 3, Pick 76: Dylan Sampson, RB, Tennessee
Dallas’ running game may have one promising name in Rico Dowdle, but this would be an extremely underwhelming group to lean on heading into a very competitive division. Even in a very crowded class, Sampson’s speed is what will help him beat out many other fringe Day 2 backs.
Sampson may not be an old-school thumper between the tackles, but his ability to take it to the house and sniff out paydirt near the goal line will make him a player who can immediately push Dowdle for snaps during his rookie season. At his best, Sampson could have a Bucky Irving-like rise.
