Braves News: Jurickson Profar Gets Positive Update, AJ Smith Shawver, more

Last Monday, the Braves learned that Sean Murphy would be out of action for at least a month due to injury.

It looked as if it could be deja vu over the weekend due to a wrist injury to Jurickson Profar. However, yesterday it was revealed that Profar is likely dealing with a bone bruise and could still be in line to return to action by opening day. That is a big relief for the Braves, who have had plenty of bad injury luck (including multiple broken wrists) over the past few years. Hopefully, this will be the last injury scare of Spring Training (knock on wood!!).

Rob Manfred and several other owners are reportedly putting pressure on Tampa Bay Rays owner Stu Sternberg to sell the team.

Gerrit Cole received word that Tommy John Surgery may be the most likely route for his recent elbow injury.

Garrett Crochet seems to be interested in an extension with the Red Sox, but does not want to discuss it beyond opening day.

Grayson Rodriguez will begin the season on the IL.
