CONFIRM: Ace Clayton Kershaw Set to Have Multiple Surgeries, Aims to Return to Dodgers in 2025

Dodgers' Kershaw to undergo foot, knee surgeries | Sports | kpvi.com

After spending some time to celebrate the Los Angeles Dodgers’ World Series win, ace Clayton Kershaw is turning his focus to the future.

During a recent chat with reporters, Kershaw revealed that he will have multiple surgeries next week while also reiterating his intention to return to the Dodgers in 2025.

Kershaw was limited to seven games in 2024 by a lingering left foot injury that also caused him to miss out on the Dodger’s postseason run.

He will undergo surgery on the foot on Wednesday while also getting a procedure for a meniscus tear in his left knee.

“It’s gonna be a two-for-one special,” Kershaw shared.

Besides the surgeries, Kershaw also has an important decision to make on his future. He currently has a $7.5 million player option for 2025, which would guarantee him another season with the Dodgers.

According to the three-time Cy Young Award winner, he is still unsure whether he will pick it up or negotiate a different contract with the franchise.

“I’ll be back, somehow. I don’t care. I’ll be back,” said Kershaw.

Kershaw had a major surgery last offseason as well, addressing damage in his left shoulder. He had some obvious rust upon returning to the mound, going 2-2 with a career-worst 4.50 ERA and 24 strikeouts.
