REPORT: NFL insider suggests blockbuster Dallas Cowboys trade involving superstar talent

Dallas Cowboys

Last year’s plan to go “all-in” resulted in the Dallas Cowboys holding onto their poker chips, only opting to execute long-term spendy contract extensions with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb.

Will this offseason be different for Jerry Jones and company?

The Cowboys and every other team have representatives at the NFL Scouting Combine where NFL trade rumors run rampant. This time, there’s a Cowboys rumor that focuses on the potential swap of two of the NFL’s best players.

Could a Micah Parsons for Myles Garrett trade be in Dallas Cowboys’ plans?

Dallas Cowboys

Usually, Jerry Jones can’t resist babbling on about the Dallas Cowboys. Jones holds a press conference every year from his luxurious bus, discussing the offseason ahead while taking questions about the scouting combine.

Yet, this year, Jones decided to skip it, meaning he hasn’t addressed the media or answered a swath of questions regarding his team’s potential plans.

His silence has prompted Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio to speculate on the possibility that the Cowboys have a big move up their sleeves and simply don’t want Jones to accidentally let something leak.

Of course, IF the Cowboys have something in the works, there are a wide range of potential outcomes, but Florio leaps to the speculation that Dallas could even be weighing the decision to trade Micah Parsons to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Myles Garrett.

As crazy as it sounds, Florio suggests the logic behind the move could come from Dallas avoiding a potential contract dispute with Parsons while bringing Garrett to his home state of Texas.

“There are other possibilities that would explain the secrecy. How about (and this is PURE speculation) a possible straight-up swap of Micah Parsons for Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett? The Cowboys would avoid having to break the bank for Parsons, and Garrett would get a chance to come home to Texas. (Then again, Garrett wants to play for a contender.)”

It seems incredibly unlikely that the Cowboys would trade their franchise icon for a player that is four years older than him. That’s four fewer years that the Cowboys would be able to benefit off his likeness, whether it’s jersey sales, ticket sales or other promotions.

Yet, it is certainly possible for the Cowboys to have something sneaky in the works.
