Deebo Samuel’s time with the San Francisco 49ers appears to be coming to an end, as Jordan Schultz from FOX Sports has reported that the “[Washington] Commanders and [Houston] Texans have had significant interest in trading for 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel, with talks progressing in recent days.” Schultz also reported that the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers “checked in”, but Washington and Houston remain the frontrunners for Samuel.

The Broncos are searching for a new wide receiver for Bo Nix, but it is beginning to seem more likely that they will target one high in the draft instead of spending extra capital on a wideout. Benjamin Allbright from KOA Colorado posted on X on Thursday, revealing to Denver fans, “If you’re a Broncos fan and you’re hoping for a wide receiver in free agency, you’re gonna be disappointed.”

I get this one a lot, so I’m gonna quote it, as I’ve said for weeks…if you’re a Broncos fan and you’re hoping for a wide receiver in free agency, you’re gonna be disappointed. https://t.co/sM6pin8JEk — Benjamin Allbright (@AllbrightNFL) February 27, 2025 Denver continues to meet with wide receivers in the upcoming draft who possess various skill sets, including Bo Nix’s brother and former Oregon teammate Tez Johnson.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton will continue his “Joker” search if Denver is unable to strike a deal for Samuel.
