The Dallas Cowboys offense will look a little different in 2025, with Brian Schottenheimer calling the offensive plays, but his support staff will also be different. Klayton Adams will be the offensive coordinator and Conor Riley the offensive line coach, and all three have one goal in mind when it comes to what the offense’s first port of call will be – running the football.
Of course, that is easy to say, but the proof will be in the pudding and Adams and Riley both have skins on the wall being a part of programs that have had successful run games. With that in mind, what will Dallas’ offensive identity be in 2025? Riley knows exactly what coach Schottenheimer wants.
“Coach Schottenheimer’s talked about it, and it’s going to be a physical identity, and he’s made it very clear that we have to win up front on both sides of the football,” Riley said. “Then along with that how do we take advantage of that physicality and utilizing play-action game and getting the ball in the playmaker’s hands.” We sense a theme here. With Schottenhemier wanting to run the ball and Adams and now Riley stating that the coaching staff wants the offense to be violent and physical, it appears that we will get a different-looking Dallas offense in 2025.
Everyone is aligned in what Schottenheimer wants as the winds of change have blown through The Star. Yes, it is early right now, and it is all talk, but we like what we hear. This will be proper grown-man football from the Cowboys going forward, and there’s no budging on that.
Yes, it’s all talk right, but it’s music to our ears.
