Travis Kelce Reveals Why Super Bowl Loss Did Not Feel Like ‘The Worst Day of My Life’ Read more at:

Travis Kelce was supposed to celebrate arguably the biggest moment of his NFL career during Super Bowl LIX. The Kansas City Chiefs had an opportunity to make history by becoming the first team to win three straight Super Bowls, thereby forever etching their names in the history books. Except that they didn’t. Kelce and the Chiefs were thoroughly outplayed from start to finish by a determined Philadelphia Eagles side, who were ultimately declared the new NFL champions after dominating Kansas City, 40-22.

While it was truly a heartbreaking experience for Kelce, the All-Pro tight end revealed that the support system he had during the game made the experience more bearable. “The biggest thing is that after the game I still had over 50-something-plus of my best friends and my family and my loved ones and everybody that has supported me throughout my life was there to, at least, make it not feel like the worst day of my life,” Kelce said during the most recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast with his brother Jason Kelce.

“An opportunity to get all those people together under one roof, be around them, hug them, smile with them, find a way to get through something really, really tough. “It definitely made it a little easier.” Among the 50-plus loved ones who came to New Orleans for the big game to support Kelce was his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. While there were no on-field celebrations for the couple this time around, reports have indicated that the multi-Grammy Award-winning singer has been doing what she can to support the Chiefs star by “trying to be there for him as much as possible.”

However, despite all the positive energy from Swift and the rest of his family and friends, Kelce acknowledged that he’s going through a tough phase in his life. “The reality is going to suck here for quite a while,” he said. “It’s just life, man. It’s life. This sport can humble you so fast, man. It could give you so much praise, it can shoot you to the moon, and it can bury you, man. It can absolutely bury you. It’s the occupation we chose. Not everything can go as planned sometimes.”
