Two Red Sox Prospects Poised for MLB Call-Up in 2025 Season

After signing Alex Bregman, the Boston Red Sox’s lineup is filled out for the opening months of the 2025 MLB season. Boston has a loaded minor league system, with three of the top 11 MLB prospects. While it’s difficult to choose two of the three, here are the two most likely to be promoted to the major leagues in 2025.

Anthony is the No. 2 prospect in MLB, trailing only Roki Sasaki of the Dodgers. Anthony can play all three outfield positions and will be first in line if either Wilyer Abreu or Ceddanne Rafaela struggles in the early part of the season. In just over 900 minor league at-bats, Anthony has a .283 average and 32 home runs. He has a career on-base percentage of .398, very impressive for a player just 20 years old.

Kristian Campbell Choosing Campbell over Marcelo Mayer was difficult, but Campbell’s proven ability to play a position other than just shortstop was the deciding factor. Given the injury history and recent struggles of Trevor Story, the Red Sox won’t hesitate to call up Campbell at the first sign of Story’s struggles. In 2024, Campbell hit .327 with 20 home runs and 77 RBIs across three minor league levels. He posted an OPS of .997, the highest of any player with over 400 at-bats in the minors in 2024.

Both players have the ability and skill to quickly produce in the major leagues, and it will be intriguing to see if they get the opportunity to do so.
