Alex Bregman’s One-Word Response on Joining Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox started their first week of spring training with a stunning move: They signed former Houston Astros slugger Alex Bregman to a three-year, $120 million deal. Bregman brings the right-handed bat the Red Sox needed to add to the lineup, and on Friday, the 30-year-old infielder reported to Fort Myers, Florida, for spring training.

Since Bregman signed so late in the offseason, he quickly had to join the team. A video on X from Duke Castiglione shows Bregman arriving at the Red Sox spring training site riding in a golf cart. While Bregman was riding away, a question was asked, “How does it feel to be in Boston?” The two-time All-Star responded with a one-word answer: “Awesome.” Alex Bregman is at Fenway South #wcvbpic.twitter.com/Po3XrUDlm9 — Duke Castiglione (@DukeCastiglione) February 14, 2025 It’s exciting to have Bregman playing for the Red Sox this summer, and now it’s time for the organization to make the playoffs for the first time since 2021.

The A.L. East is stacked with the New York Yankees, who just went to the World Series, and the Baltimore Orioles, one of the best young teams, who made the Wild Card Series last year. Boston’s chances of making the postseason will be challenging, but adding Bregman and pitcher Garrett Crochet will help them close the gap with the best teams in MLB.
