The Philadelphia Eagles capped off an incredible 2024 season by hoisting the Lombardi Trophy after a blowout victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.
And yet, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott believes his team has “beat ’em” for the “most part” over the past few years – despite the Eagles 2-0 record against Dallas during the 2024 season.
In speaking with reporters this afternoon, the star quarterback believes the Cowboys have what it takes to compete with the best.
“I mean I feel like we compete with the Eagles and beat ’em for the most part when we’ve played them. I don’t want to say check the record when they’re the guys holding the trophy right now,” Prescott told reporters on Tuesday.
“So credit to them they’ve earned it and they deserve it by all means, but yeah very close – especially when you watch the NFC championship and those two teams that we battle against each and ever year a couple of times. As I said, I feel confident that we’ve gotten the better part each and every time, it’s just to see them win in such a dominating fashion…credit to them. It’s our turn and it’s on us.”
Fans flocked to social media to call Prescott out for his “delusion.”
“It’s nice to see players really connect to their fanbase like this honestly! He’s just as delusional as they are but you have to respect it,” one person said.
“Everyone involved with the Cowboys from front office, players and fans are delusional lmao,” said another.
“There is confidence and then there is delusion,” claimed another.
The 2025 season can’t get here fast enough.
