The start of the 2025 Major League Baseball season for the Boston Red Sox moved one step closer last week with the opening of spring training at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers.
Red Sox pitchers and catchers report for their first formal workouts Wednesday with the first full-squad workout set for Monday at Fenway South.
Practices are held on the Fenway South back fields behind JetBlue Park starting at 10 a.m. and fan watch areas are roped and marked. Fans may enter the complex through the West Gate beginning at 9 a.m.
The Red Sox are looking to improve upon last year’s 81-81 finish, which left them third in the American League East and out of the playoffs for the fifth time in the past six years.
The Red Sox have held spring training in Fort Myers since 1993, spending their first 19 years at City of Palms Park before moving to JetBlue Park in 2012.
Here’s what you need to know before heading out to see the Red Sox this spring.

Tickets for tours may be purchased from the JetBlue Park box office and cost $10 per person, with children 12 and under able to enter for free. These tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and must be registered in advance by calling 239-226-4783.
Who’s in and who’s out for the Red Sox?
This offseason, the Red Sox focused on bolstering their pitching staff, signing free-agent starter Walker Buehler and veteran reliever Aroldis Chapman to one-year contracts. Boston’s biggest move of the offseason was acquiring left-handed starter Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox for four prospects, a trade it hopes will help the Red Sox break its three-year postseason drought.
Crochet, an All-Star for the White Sox last season, had 209 strikeouts with 33 walks in 146 innings pitched. He joins a rotation that includes All-Star Tanner Houck and former FGCU standout Kutter Crawford.

Chapman, a seven-time All-Star with 335 career saves, should help bolster a bullpen that lost closer Kenley Jansen to free agency. The Red Sox also saw slugging outfielder Tyler O’Neill, who led the team with 31 home runs, leave in free agency to sign with the Baltimore Orioles.
