Donald Trump tried to share the Super Bowl spotlight with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
The president congratulated the quarterback, who’s going for a record third straight Super Bowl championship on Sunday, and his wife Brittany Mahomes on the birth of their third child – at least three weeks after she arrived.
“Congratulations to the Chiefs GREAT Quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, and his very beautiful and BRILLIANT wife, Brittany, on the birth of their new baby daughter, Golden Raye,” Trump posted Thursday at 12:06 a.m. “This is what I call a baby with great genes, both mother and father. It’s happy times in the wonderful Mahomes family. See you all on Sunday!”

The couple announced Jan. 12 on Instagram that the 29-year-old Brittany Mahomes had given birth to a daughter, in addition to their two other children, 3-year-old Sterling Skye and 2-year-old Patrick Lavon.
Trump, who will attend the Super Bowl this weekend in New Orleans, has praised the quarterback’s wife as a MAGA supporter after she liked, but then unliked, one of his Instagram posts in September laying out the “2024 GOP platform.”
“I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me,” Trump posted on Truth Social at the time.
Patrick Mahomes declined to endorse a candidate during last year’s election but instead encouraged his fans to register to vote, but Trump claims his wife as a fan, and MAGA foil pop superstar – and girlfriend of Chiefs tight-end Travis Kelce – Taylor Swift, whom he declared in all caps that he “HATED” after she backed Kamala Harris.
“I actually like Mrs. Mahomes much better, if you want to know the truth,” Trump told Fox News after Swift’s endorsement. “She’s a big Trump fan. I like Brittany. I think Brittany is great.”
