Braves News: Ozzie Albies, PECOTA Rankings, Spring Training Hats, More

Some fun news and notes from Monday.

Internal improvement may be the most important aspect of the 2025 Atlanta Braves. Many players returning to previous forms and simply returning to health could make the Braves on the top World Series favorites once again. And while many names have been discussed, such as Sean Murphy and Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies is another player the Braves could really benefit from if he has a big season.

Sam Peebles of Battery Power looked at the interesting idea of extending Ozzie Albies in Spring Training. It certainly is an intriguing thought, but it also could be a bit risky, as Albies has struggled with both inconsistencies and injuries over the past few years. The hope is that he can come close to the 2023 version of himself, and if that is the case, it would be a huge boost for the Braves.

The Battery Power top 30 list begins with prospects 25-30 in Atlanta’s system.

For years, PECOTA projections underestimated the Braves. But for now, they seem to believe, as the Braves rank second in win projections for 2025.

MLB teams released their 2025 Spring Training hats on Monday.
