The San Francisco 49ers have had an epic rollercoaster season this year. Massive injuries, preseason holdouts and hold-ins, and glairing upsets have last year’s NFC champions sitting at 4-4 and in a three-way tie with the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks for the divisional lead. With superstar running back Christian McCaffrey still awaiting his season debut and wideout Brandon Aiyuk out for the season with an ACL and MCL tear, quarterback Brock Purdy has failed to replicate his standout 2023 season. In turn, the San Francisco defense has had to take on more responsibility, including elite edge rusher Nick Bosa.
Last weekend, the 49ers held on for a 30-24 win against the Dallas Cowboys, with Bosa recording a season-high three quarterback hurries while registering a sack and a TFL. Following the win, Bosa felt himself, crashing Brock Purdy’s postgame interview while wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat, the campaign slogan for presidential hopeful Donald J. Trump. Bosa’s postgame antics were criticized, with former ESPN personality Bomani Jones taking aim at the superstar, bashing him for becoming sheepish with the media when pressed about wearing the hat. Meanwhile, fans also have Bosa in their crosshairs.
San Francisco 49ers DE Nick Bosa Under Attack By Bomani Jones
According to Bomani Jones on his Twitter account, The Right Time with Bomani Jones :
Nick Bosa wanted attention, and then suddenly he didn’t.
“Somebody asked him about it (wearing a MAGA hat postgame) at the press conference after the game, and you putting on for Trump. What do you mean you aren’t going to talk too much about it, partner? You made that call. You did this. You brought us here. You decided that you wanted to put that out there, and ‘it is an important time.’
On the media end, it becomes important to ask people questions when they ask for attention. He wanted the attention. Give it to him. I’m not telling that man to ‘shut up and rush the passer.’ Speak up, playboy.”

The story from last NFL weekend was about the return of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the walk-off Hail Mary competition thrown by Washington Commanders signal-caller Jayden Daniels until San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa stole the show on Sunday Night Football by wearing a Donald Trump MAGA hat. On the field, Bosa wore a white-on-gold MAGA hat while crashing a postgame interview with teammates Brock Purdy and George Kittle.
In the press conference following the game, the media approached Bosa for the reason for donning the hat. The star pass rusher declined to elaborate but called it “an important time” in our country as the 2024 presidential election quickly approaches. With former ESPN TV talent Bomani Jones taking aim at Bosa following the game, NFL fans also jumped on him for failing to deliver a reason behind wearing the Donald Trump-centric hat:
White Privilege means you have the license to not have to explain an action and the media just says “ok” 🤷🏿♂️

Wild how guys like Bosa, whose livelihoods depend so much on the health and well-being of African-American men, can support someone who fundamentally disrespects those men at every turn and has no problem wishing them harm.

I have no problem on him supporting Trump, but Bosa dropped the ball on this one.
1.) He interrupt Purdy’s interview, to show his white hat. That we couldn’t make out initially.
2. He backed out in expressing his political view on the general election.

I’m pissed about the damage he has done to the locker-room … And so should the whole team!
