QB Dak Prescott paced the NFL in touchdown passes last season while racking up 4,516 yards to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a third straight playoff appearance. Unfortunately, his production has tapered drastically in 2024.

Through seven contests, the signal caller has thrown for 10 scores to eight interceptions, including multiple picks in each of his last three outings. Not surprisingly, the Cowboys have lost two of those matchups to fall to just 3-4 on the season.

Prescott’s current interception rate is double what it was last year as he’s nearly matched his 17-game total less than halfway through the campaign.

His struggles have led to a 22nd-ranked scoring offense while he consistently puts his defense in undesirable situations.

This week, a pair of those defensive teammates spoke about quarterback play around the league, listing some of the passers they’d consider to be at the top of the NFL right now.

Dak Prescott’s name was nowhere to be found!

The conversation initially centered around rival Jayden Daniels; a player they believe has already wrapped up Rookie of the Year honors.

It quickly developed into a discussion of top quarterbacks, in general.

Daniels, Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, and Jalen Hurts were each included. Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold received honorary mentions.

Prescott must’ve slipped their minds!

Most would tend to agree having seen how his season’s played out thus far. Making matters worse, the Cowboys just gave him a pricey new contract following his All-Pro campaign in ’23.

The Dallas starter has a ways to go before being considered a top passing threat in this year’s NFL. He’ll have 10 more regular season games to get there as he looks for a fourth consecutive postseason trip.
