Patrick Mahomes Turns Heads With Strong Message on Saturday Night

The Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of becoming the first team in NFL History to win a Super Bowl three-peat as they prepare to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Feb 9. With a mix of new and veteran players on the squad, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, who’s set to make his fifth Super Bowl start in his seven years as a starter, is making sure everyone stays locked in.

“I just make sure to stay on guys about getting their stuff done and making sure that they keep the main thing the main thing, and that’s the football game that we’re going to play,” Mahomes said told 96.5 The Fan’s Carrington Harrison earlier this week. “And then you can enjoy the other stuff as well. But I tell them, you really can enjoy it if you win the game.

One night before the Chiefs flew to New Orleans for the big game, Mahomes turn heads with a strong message on X. The 29-year-old couldn’t help but comment on Texas Tech basketball team’s huge upset over Houston on Saturday night after Mahomes’ alma mater defeated the Cougars 82-81 in overtime.

He posted, “All heart!!! Big time win!! @TexasTechMMB.” One fan replied, “The GOAT speaks.” Another person wrote, “We legit have the tweeting about our basketball program before the Super Bowl Your school could never.” One man added, “How many schools have a 3-time SB MVP locked into their game on a Saturday night the week before he goes for number 4.”

Not only did the Red Raiders (No. 22) upset the No. 6 ranked Cougars, they broke Houston’s 33-game home win streak. And they did so after Texas Tech’s lead scorer, JT Toppin, and head coach Grant McCasland, were ejected after a questionable call. After the game, McCasland used a Mahomes reference while strongly defending Toppin against the refs’ decision.

And he spun to throw the basketball with his right but he gets crowded quickly and he’s trying to throw with his left — I don’t know we should call and ask Mahomes and ask him.”
