Key Cowboys Defender Says He’s Dealing With Injury
With four losses in the last six games, the Dallas Cowboys are on the verge of potentially spiraling out of control and letting this season become a lost cause, as they are sporting a disappointing record of 3-4 while trailing the Washington Commanders and Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East division.
The Cowboys are coming off consecutive losses against two of the better teams in the NFC, losing to the Detroit Lions in epic fashion and then falling to the rival San Francisco 49ers this past Sunday in a close game.
In Week 9, the Cowboys will have to go on the road to take on a better-than-expected Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which will be another tough game for America’s Team.
As if things weren’t challenging enough for the Cowboys in the injury department, especially on the defensive side of the football, Dallas might be without another elite defender, with cornerback Trevon Diggs dealing with tightness in his calf, which he addressed, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic.
“It was a little sore coming out of the game. Probably one of the plays I got hit or something. I’m getting treatment and working through it,” Diggs said.
Without Diggs on the football field, the Cowboys will be a much weaker defensive side, which doesn’t bode well for them snapping their two-game losing streak and coming out on top against the Falcons, who have won four of their last five games.
Dallas desperately needs to get back on track, and a win against Atlanta would help them do that.
