Shreve is an 11-year veteran whose career actually began with the Braves back in 2014 when he posted a 0.73 ERA over 15 appearances. However, he hasn’t been nearly as effective since, especially recently.
Shreve appeared in just one game for the Rockies this past season. In 2023, he posted a 4.63 ERA across 50 appearances with the Tigers and Reds. This is nothing more than a depth signing. He’ll come to camp with an opportunity to win one of the final spots in the Braves bullpen, but Alex Anthopoulos still needs to add at least one more high-leverage arm before the start of the season after losing A.J. Minter to the Mets and Joe Jimenez to an injury that could force him to miss all of the 2025 campaign.
