Atlanta Braves 2025 spring training: Pitchers and catchers report date, schedule

Atlanta Braves v New York Yankees

Earlier this week Atlanta Braves fans were pleasantly surprised with the announcement of more televised spring training games for the 2025 season. Today, official spring training dates came out for every MLB team. These dates include the first signs of baseball life with pitchers and catchers reporting as well as the date for first full squad workouts.

For the Braves they are one of the many teams that will see their pitchers and catchers report on February 12. The date for Atlanta’s first full squad workout is scheduled for February 18. Then a few days later Atlanta will begin Grapefruit League play with a matchup versus the Minnesota Twins on February 22.

The Braves will open up home field play at CoolToday park the following day against the Rays. From there it will be the usual Grapefruit League action that features a ton of competition against AL East opponents. You can find a full spring training broadcast schedule by clicking right here.

Braves officially less than a month away from pitchers and catchers reporting

Less than a month remains before most clubs have pitchers and catchers report, and many notable free agents remain on the board. Alex Anthopoulos has spent the first 3 months of this offseason without increasing the team’s payroll like he indicated in the 2024 exit interviews. While it’s still possible to make moves throughout the course of spring training, it’s not often you see a ton of dollars handed out with the bulk of your roster already in Florida/Arizona.

However, signals do point toward Anthopoulos being active over the remainder of January. Fans may grow tired and roll their eyes every time they hear this, but plenty of deals are left to be made. The majority of remaining free agents don’t want to get a late start on the 2025 season, thus they may be willing to take a lesser deal so that they can get on the field before they are left behind.

This is right in Anthopoulos wheelhouse, and once it’s all said and done we’ll probably be praising AA for waiting out the market. With less than a month before pitchers and catchers report, it will be various interesting to see who they end up adding to their roster with the clock ticking and bring into camp.
