BREAKING: Brusdar Graterol and the Dodgers have agreed to a $2.8 million deal to avoid arbitration for the 2025 season

Brusdar Graterol isn’t expected to pitch until the second half of the 2025 season, but the right-hander does have a contract for the coming season. The Dodgers agreed to terms with Graterol on Thursday to avoid salary arbitration.

Graterol will earn $2.8 million in 2025, per Fabian Ardaya at The Athletic.

With four years, 167 days of major league service time, Graterol was eligible for arbitration for the third time. His deal for 2025 nearly matches his $2.7 million earned in 2024, which was to be expected after shoulder and hamstring injuries limited Graterol to only 10 appearances between the regular season and postseason.

On November 14, Graterol had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right shoulder, and is expected to miss at least the first half of the 2025 season.

Tony Gonsolin ($5.4 million) and Dustin May ($2.135 million) each avoided arbitration by signing one-year contracts in November, each matching their 2024 salary after missing the entire season after elbow surgeries.

Graterol in his six major league seasons, the last five of which are with the Dodgers, has a 2.78 ERA, 3.20 FIP, and 11 saves in 188 games, with 148 strikeouts and 42 walks in 190⅔ career innings.

The 26-year-old was projected to earn $2.7 million in 2025 by both MLB Trade Rumors and Cot’s Baseball Contracts. I guessed a salary of $2.8 million for Graterol this season.
