Earlier this week the New England Patriots opened up a spot on their 53-man roster when they waived defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, allowing the veteran pass rusher to catch on with another team for a playoff run.
On Wednesday, New England filled that spot on the roster, signing defensive lineman Haggai Ndubuisi off of the Washington Commanders practice squad.
PGA TOUR Official Highlights
Ndubuisi, 24, originally entered the NFL through the league’s International Player Pathway Program from Nigeria in 2022 as an offensive tackle with the Arizona Cardinals. The following year, he switched to defensive tackle with the Denver Broncos, and he spent the entire 2023 season on their practice squad.
After a brief stint with the UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas, he signed with Washington and has been on their practice squad all year.
With just one game left in the season, the Patriots probably won’t get a full look at Ndubuisi, but this could give them a head start at their roster building for 2025.
