You are here: Home/ Sports/ NFL/ Analyst Says Patrick Mahomes’ Pro Bowl Snub ‘Great For The Chiefs’
Patrick Mahomes has reached a surprising milestone in his NFL career: his first Pro Bowl snub since becoming a starter.
Despite leading the Kansas City Chiefs to a remarkable 15-1 record, the quarterback’s name was noticeably absent when the 2025 Pro Bowl Games selections were announced.
The AFC quarterback spots instead went to Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills as the starter, with Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals named as reserves.
Patrick Mahomes is the first QB since 2004 to not make the Pro Bowl despite having a record of 15-1 or better.

This development has sparked interesting reactions, particularly from FOX Sports analyst Nick Wright, a noted Chiefs fan who who sees it as a positive.
Even more intriguing is the betting market’s response, with Kansas City’s Super Bowl odds showing slight improvement following the announcement.
“Well, first of all, this is objectively great for the Chiefs. And believe it or not, Vegas agrees, just not by a lot, but the Chiefs became slightly bigger Super Bowl favorites this morning,” Wright said on “First Things First.” “Now maybe that’s coincidental. … So maybe other things moved the market, but I didn’t see anything else happening in the football world.”

The Pro Bowl omission adds another layer to the ongoing narrative surrounding the Chiefs, who despite their dominant record seem to face consistent underappreciation in media circles.
Mahomes is known for turning perceived slights into motivation, so this could serve as additional fuel as the Chiefs pursue a historic third straight Super Bowl championship.
