Dane Brugler would be “shocked” if the Patriots get a “Bears-like” package for the No. 1 pick this year.
The Bears traded the first overall pick in the 2023 draft to the Panthers in exchange for four draft picks and WR D.J. Moore.
Brugler added that he believes Shadeur Sanders would be QB7 in last year’s draft, behind Bo Nix and Michael Penix.
A comment from one AFC scout: “Man, I feel bad for the teams trying to find one (quarterback) in this group.
Dane Brugler expressed skepticism about the Patriots’ chances of securing a trade package similar to what the Bears received for the No. 1 overall pick last year.

Brugler added that this year’s quarterback class may not generate the same level of interest, noting that Shadeur Sanders would rank as QB7 if placed in last year’s draft, behind prospects like Bo Nix and Michael Penix.
Echoing this sentiment, an AFC scout commented on the challenging QB landscape, saying, “Man, I feel bad for the teams trying to find one (quarterback) in this group.
