Braves News: 2025 starts with a quiet market, rumors, more

Well we have entered 2025, and the league largely took a transaction hiatus for the New Year holiday. Jon Heyman did mention speculatively that the Braves might be a team interested in Max Scherzer this offseason, and that is a name that I have thought on myself this offseason. The Braves do seem to like the late career veterans that they can get on short term deals to avoid the massive risk that comes with large long term pitching contracts in free agency. Scherzer hasn’t been his formerly dominant self for the past two seasons and has dealt with injury, but he has been serviceable and would be a good presence for some of the Braves’ younger pitchers.
