Braves Predicted To Land Blue Jays $34 Million Star In Massive Offseason Trade Read more at:

The Toronto Blue Jays came into the offseason with rumored plans to take their team to the next level. Toronto was reportedly in on Juan Soto, Max Fried, and Corbin Burnes, but a few weeks after these reports emerged, the Blue Jays are empty-handed while these superstars signed elsewhere.

With that in mind, it’s becoming more and more likely the Blue Jays opt to trade expiring shortstop Bo Bichette this winter. If they opt to do so, Bleacher Report’s Zachary Rymer suggested the Atlanta Braves would be the top option. Rymer also pitched a one-for-one trade package that could send Bichette to Atlanta. Here’s the deal pitched by Rymer to send Bichette to the Braves:

Atlanta Braves receive: SS Bo Bichette Toronto Blue Jays receive: LHP Cam Caminiti (No. 1 prospect) “Orlando Arcia was an All-Star as recently as 2023, but he was an iffy selection even then and his stock has plummeted since,” Rymer wrote. “This year, he hit just .218 and produced 0.5 rWAR. The Braves should otherwise be thinking big-picture. They were a super-team coming into this year, but injuries and unexpectedly poor performances reduced them to an 89-win shell.

“And so far this winter, they’ve been quiet as other NL contenders have loaded up. There isn’t a ton of talent in Atlanta’s system, but there is plenty of pitching depth. That’s what the Blue Jays should try to get at if the Braves call about Bichette.” Bichette is very talented and has the potential to return to his All-MLB form, but sending 18-year-old Cam Caminiti to the Blue Jays seems like too steep of a price to pay. Bichette has the potential to be one of the best shortstops in the league, but his contract is expiring, so trading Atlanta’s top prospect doesn’t feel very realistic.

I could see the Braves being a solid suitor for Bichette, but it would likely involve a pitching prospect like Hurston Waldrep instead of Caminiti.
