Red Sox Blockbuster Trade Idea Would Land Boston New $427 Million Superstar Read more at:

The Boston Red Sox could be a contender to trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. from the Toronto Blue Jays. Guerrero will be a free agent after the season. After failing to bring in superstars to convince him to stay, they could deal him for a haul. During an appearance on Abriendo Sports, Guerrero noted that he and Toronto are not close in terms of contract offers. Guerrero noted that he rejected a $340 million offer earlier in the offseason, and also said Soto’s contract changed the outlook of his negotiations.

Ballcap Sports’ Jim Riley proposed this trade package that sends Guerrero to the Red Sox: Red Sox receive: first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Blue Jays receive: designated hitter/left fielder Masataka Yoshida, shortstop Kristian Campbell (MLB No. 10 prospect), left-handed pitcher Brennan Bernardino and second baseman Vaughn Grissom

The Blue Jays need to capitalize now if they do not think Guerrero will be signing back with them. The Red Sox would be giving up Yoshida and one of their best prospects. The Blue Jays could view Campbell as the heir to Bo Bichette. Campbell is the No. 10 prospect in all of baseball according to MLB Pipeline. The 22-year-old reached Triple-A last season and hit .330 in 115 games across three levels last season.

He has experience starting at shortstop, second base and in the outfield. He could be a huge piece for the Blue Jays future. Meanwhile, the Red Sox would be getting a four-time All-Star, Gold Glover and two-time Silver Slugger.

Guerrero is a first baseman but has experience in the hot corner. The Red Sox could use him as the designated hitter. However, if they trade Triston Casas they could play Guerrero there or move Rafael Devers to first base and play Guerrero at third base.
