SEE!! Here’s the best angle of the Cowboys-Eagles tunnel melee in Philadelphia

What did you expect to happen? Two, bitter division rivals – one trying to clinch the division title while the other is trying to spoil their season. They weren’t going to hug it out.

With less than three minutes remaining in regulation, the Dallas Cowboys were being throttled 41-7 by the Philadelphia Eagles. Right before the Cowboys could start a new offensive series, a scuffle broke out near the tunnel.

The catalyst of the fight was after an Eagles’ punt – in the endzone Cowboys receiver Jalen Brooks threw down Eagles safety Sydney BrownBrown tried to retaliate but Cowboys cornerback Troy Pride got in his way. Brown then threw Pride onto the ground, near the tunnel.

Both Brooks and Pride received penalties and were disqualified for the remainder of the game. Brown shared the same punishment for the fight.

It makes sense why the Cowboys were mad. The tone was set in the first quarter when C.J. Gardner-Johnson got a pick-six to spoil the Cowboys’ opening drive. CGJ got another pick near the end of the second quarter as well.

The Eagles defense held the Cowboys to a total of 268 yards — 141 passing yards and 127 rushing yards. Despite only getting one sack, the Eagles were able to force four turnovers — two INTs and two forced fumbles. Linebacker Oren Burks led the team in tackles today — eight total tackles and a forced fumble.

Saquon Barkley also had a huge day, getting one step closer to making NFL history — 31 carries for 143 yards. Not only has Barkley broke through 2,000 yards rushing, he is only 125 yards away from breaking Eric Dickerson’s all-time single season rushing record.

While the Eagles have claimed the No. 2 seed in the playoffs, they might let Barkley run wild on his old team, the New York Giants, next week to claim the record.
