The New England Patriots could have a very interesting offseason ahead of them.

Though they have gone 3-12 this season, they seemingly have discovered their next franchise quarterback in Drake Maye.

However, the coaching is going to have to improve from here on out.

One Boston-based analyst recently posted predictions for which coaches on the staff will return for the 2025 season and which ones will be let go.

It said that head coach Jerod Mayo and offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt will be back, while defensive coordinator Demarcus Covington and wide receiver coach Tyler Hughes will be fired.

“I think it you give Alex Van Pelt and Drake Maye a good O line and some weapons, they can have a serious production jump next season,” Savage Sports wrote on X.

New England is ranked 29th in total offense and 30th in scoring offense this season.

However, Maye has had his moments with a passer rating of 88.6 and a completion percentage of 67.6 percent in his rookie season.

If the Patriots can start to build up the team around him this offseason, they might be onto something, especially if Maye hits on his potential.

The goal simply needs to be to take the next step.

The Patriots should try to get close to a .500 record next season, and if that type of growth doesn’t take place, then a serious conversation might need to be had about Mayo and the rest of the coaching staff.
