Mike Vrabel Is Reportedly ‘Very Interested’ In 1 Coaching Job
The New England Patriots don’t have a head coach opening at the moment.
Despite being coached to a record of 3-12 by Jerod Mayo in his first season, the Pats have not yet felt the need to make a move to find a better head coach.
However, Mike Vrabel, one of the hottest names in the coaching market, could be interested in the position.
“Allegedly, Vrabel is very interested in being the head coach of the New England Patriots,” analyst Connor Campbell stated Thursday on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“Word on the street is that Mike Vrabel is very interested in being the Head Coach of the New England Patriots..
“Word on the street is that Mike Vrabel is very interested in being the Head Coach of the New England Patriots…. Allegedly that is VERY real.”
This is significant news because Vrabel played eight seasons with the Patriots, becoming an All-Pro and winning three Super Bowls with the team.
He burst onto the coaching scene as a defensive coordinator with the Houston Texans before becoming the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.
He guided the Titans to four winning seasons, multiple AFC South crowns, and an AFC Championship game appearance in six seasons there.
In the right situation, Vrabel is one of the great coaches in the league.
However, seeing the Pats move on from Jerod Mayo after just one season would be stunning.
It would be a big move, but Vrabel has a history of winning in this league as a player and a coach.
Time will tell if New England is serious about Vrabel on their end.
