IF THE COMMANDERS WIN… DELETE THIS IF THE COMMANDERS LOSE
The Dallas Cowboys have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.

Sunday afternoon the Washington Commanders defeated the Philadelphia Eagles. On one hand, that kept the Eagles from clinching the NFC East (at least for now), but on the other hand it came at the ultimate cost for the Cowboys.

Entering Week 16 the Cowboys only had a chance at the playoffs by way of the third Wild Card spot in the NFC and with Washington in that spot and now having 10 wins. and that the Cowboys can only reach nine on the season (if they were to win out) takes them out of the discussion from a mathematical standpoint.

Obviously this season has been lost in an effective sense for a long time now, arguably since before it ever got off of the ground. It is certainly not fun in any way that Dallas is officially eliminated with three games left to go, including a Sunday night contest on primetime where the reality is still raw and the entire world will see them play in response to it.

But the Cowboys have only themselves to blame as the front office went about things in a rather chaotic fashion over the course of last offseason. Perhaps the lessons learned, including being eliminated before Christmas Day, will offer a point of change in the future.
