Baker Mayfield’s Wife Sends 3-Word Message to Brittany Mahomes

A week ago today Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered what appeared to be a serious lower leg injury. Test results showed he suffered a high ankle sprain, which threatened to force him out of the team’s game against the Houston Texans on Saturday afternoon. Instead, Mahomes not only played in the game, but racked up 33 yards and a touchdown on the ground to go along with 260 yards and a touchdown through the air.

“I ask a lot from the guys around me, and so I feel like if I’m going to ask them to play through pain, if I’m going to ask them to play through little nicks and bruises and stuff like that, I’ve got to do it,” Mahomes said, via ESPN. “That’s something that I pride myself on, is being out there with my guys and playing football, and I’m not going to put us in a position to be in a bad spot or lose a football game, but if I feel like I can compete and win, I’ll be out on that football field.”

Mahomes was the star on the field, but his wife, Brittany, was the star off of it. She showed up to the game in a custom jacket that had social media talking – including the wife of Tampa Bay Buccaneers star quarterback Baker Mayfield. “Okay this jacket!!!!!,” Emily Mayfield said in the comments section.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid knows the team has something special in Mahomes. “He spoils the dog out of us. So tough mentally and physically, so you just get used to it. Most guys don’t come back from that like he did, but he set his mind to it and then he jumped in that training room and stayed in there,” he said. The Chiefs will be back in action on Christmas Day in a battle between AFC playoff teams.
