BREAKING!! Dodgers’ Ideal $33 Million Trade Target Could Be ‘In Play’ Again, Report Says

Before signing with the San Francisco Giants, Willy Adames was viewed as a fit for the Los Angeles Dodgers because of the club’s need at shortstop.

LA has been linked to other external solutions in recent weeks. Could Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette once again be an option? The Dodgers were a potential landing spot for Bichette ahead of the 2024 trade deadline, but Toronto decided against dealing its homegrown star.

At the beginning of the offseason, Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins poured cold water on the possibility of a Bichette trade.

But now, it seems like it could once again be an option. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported on Thursday that “circumstances have changed” because the Jays recently completed a trade with the Cleveland Guardians for Andrés Giménez.

While Rosenthal said the Blue Jays aren’t openly shopping Bichette, they’re open to the possibility of dealing the shortstop. He noted it was one of several offseason scenarios that’s “in play” for the organization.

With that in mind, the Dodgers should at least continue kicking the tires on possibly acquiring Bichette.

The 26-year-old is coming off a rough year that included a .598 OPS and just four home runs in 336 plate appearances.

However, he was among the top offensive producers at his position from 2021-23. Bichette went to two All-Star Games during that time.

He posted a .815 OPS while averaging 24 home runs, 34 doubles, 89 RBI and 94 runs scored per season.

The 2025 campaign will be his final season of a three-year, $33.6 million contract. He’ll earn $17.583 million before reaching free agency next winter.
