The New York Yankees are coming off of an American League East title and an appearance in the 2024 World Series.

After the loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Yankees received more bad news when free-agent outfielder Juan Soto signed with the New York Mets.

Although the Yankees lost one of their best players, they have responded by adding three key pieces to their roster before the 2025 season.

MLB analyst Chris Russo didn’t hold back his thoughts on the Yankees’ offseason thus far.

“I think the Yankees are a winner,” Russo said, via MLB Network.

The Yankees responded to Soto’s departure by signing free agent pitcher Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves, and trading for outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs and reliever Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Russo supports what the Yankees have done, and he mentions that they will have all three of those players for less money than they would have paid Soto to return.

Fried is a solid starting pitcher while Williams will likely be their closer and Bellinger will get to take his swings at the short right-field porch at Yankee Stadium.

Russo said the Yankees are among the winners thus far in the offseason, and there is still time for them to make even more moves.
