Yankees’ voice says more moves are coming: ‘They’re not done’
The Yankees held a new conference on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium for new left-hander Max Fried, who signed an eight-year, $218-million contract on Dec. 9.AP

The Yankees have been busy this offseason, and general manager Brian Cashman’s work likely is not finished.

After missing out on Juan Soto, who signed a record-breaking deal with the Mets, the Yankees’ pivot has included bringing in outfielder/first baseman Cody Bellinger and starting pitcher Max Fried.

Before Freid was introduced at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, Yankees announcer Suzyn Waldman spoke on WFAN about the team’s offseason moves.

“I love building a team,” Suzyn said, via Audacy. “They’re not done. I was told by three different people that they’re not done.

“I love this. This is my favorite thing, which is building a team and not just spending money on a couple people and going that way. They are not done, I am told. We will see what happens.”

The next steps include adding a solution at first base and/or bringing in a third baseman. Waldman prefers the latter option.

“They better get a third baseman here,” she said. “If you’re gonna spend this money on Max Fried, then you better have a real third baseman standing there, because that’s what he does. That’s where the balls go.

“They gotta do something at third base. Someone has to be standing over there who knows what they’re doing.”
