The New York Yankees appear to have bounced back nicely after the heartbreaking news of their superstar outfielder Juan Soto signing with the New York Mets in free agency.

After the Soto decision was made, the Yankees did not hesitate to make some acquisitions of their own by adding some star players to their roster.

The Yankees signed free agent starting pitcher Max Fried from the Atlanta Braves while also trading for relief pitcher Devin Williams from the Milwaukee Brewers and outfielder Cody Bellinger from the Chicago Cubs.

MLB Insider Ken Rosenthal revealed what could be the next move for the Yankees this offseason.

“The most obvious move to me would be to sign a first baseman,” Rosenthal said via Foul Territory on ‘X.’

While Rosenthal says signing a first baseman would be the most obvious move, he also mentions that Bellinger has the ability to play first base if they want to go another direction.

Pete Alonso of the New York Mets is one of the best free agent first basemen available, but Rosenthal mentions others such as Carlos Santana from the Minnesota Twins and Christian Walker of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Yankees have used the money saved by not bringing Soto back to sign a plethora of talent thus far that will benefit their team in 2025.

While the Yankees have been in the headlines for the multiple moves they have made recently, Rosenthal believes that they might not be done yet.

The Yankees will look to get back to the World Series in 2025 and prove that they can win the title even after losing out on the Soto sweepstakes.
