NFL analyst reveals what the missing piece is for the Chiefs to three-peat

The Kansas City Chiefs have a chance to do something that no team has done before and that’s win three straight Super Bowls. They were the first team to win back-to-back championships since the New England Patriots did it in the 2003 and 2004 season but that team failed to win it all in the 2005 season.

So far, the Chiefs don’t look like the runaway favorites to win the Super Bowl. Some might point out that last year’s team looked far worse, especially this time last year when they dropped three games in the month of December. That being said, Patrick Mahomes is now dinged up and the offense looks lifeless most of the time.

ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky said that in order for the Chiefs to get that coveted three-peat, they desperately need Hollywood Brown back in the starting lineup.

“The Chiefs, to win a third straight Super Bowl, are going to need Hollywood Brown to get healthy. Watching this tape , it is an offense that is struggling mightily. They can’t protect and bringing Thuney out to the left tackle made the offensive line worse and there’s no vertical juice on this offense. They’re gonna need Hollywood Brown to three-peat.”

Dan Orlovsky says the Chiefs can’t three-peat without a healthy Hollywood Brown

The Chiefs signed Brown over the offseason and fans were elated. Not only was Rashee Rice coming off a promising rookie season but now K.C. had Brown joining him in the offense. Well, as we know, Brown was placed on IR without taking a single regular-season snap and Rice later joined him when he was injured in a Week 4 win over the Chargers.

That has left Xavier Worthy and JuJu Smith-Schuster as the two main receiving threats and it also forced Brett Veach to go out and trade for DeAndre Hopkins, which has been a nice move. That being said, there’s no doubt that Brown would give this offense the juice that Orlovsky says it’s missing.

Brown previously time spent with the Ravens and Cardinals with his best year coming in 2021 in Baltimore. Brown had 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six trips into the end zone that year. While he didn’t come close to those numbers while in the desert, injuries played a part in that. He wanted to come to Kansas City to win a ring and it sounds as though he might be able to return to the lineup soon.

The Chiefs desperately need help moving the ball and scoring points so the sooner Brown can return to the lineup, the better.
