BREAKING: Phillies Land $50 Million Star Outfielder In Blockbuster Trade Proposal

The Philadelphia Phillies have been in pursuit of a blockbuster trade that would bring Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. to Philadelphia for the last few months, but nothing has come to fruition.

This offseason, the White Sox are unloading their stars. Chicago already traded starter Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox and Robert is likely to be next. The Phillies missed on Crochet, but that doesn’t mean they’ll miss on Robert.

Chicago could deal its star outfielder to Philadelphia in the coming weeks. Here’s a deal that could potentially finally send the White Sox outfielder to Philadelphia:

  • Philadelphia Phillies receive: OF Luis Robert Jr.
  • Chicago White Sox receive: OF Justin Crawford (No. 3 prospect), SS Bryan Rincon (No. 10 prospect), OF Emaarion Boyd (No. 23 prospect)

The Phillies finally land the young outfielder to slot in their outfield. They also hold onto third baseman Alec Bohm in this deal, which leaves him free to keep for 2025 or trade in a blockbuster deal for a starting pitcher.

Robert still has three years of team control on his deal with the 2026 and 2027 seasons being $20 million club options. He’s coming off a down year in 2024, but he slugged 38 home runs and 36 doubles in 2023. For the White Sox, they add three more high-potential position player prospects they’ve been looking for. Crawford was reportedly discussed in trade proposals for Crochet, so Chicago’s interest is likely to still be there.

Crawford is listed as MLB Pipeline’s 53rd-best prospect heading into 2025. Rincon is a very talented shortstop prospect who would likely be Chicago’s second-best farm system shortstop if this trade came to fruition. The 20-year-old switch hitter had quite a down year in 2024, but his potential hasn’t quite been fully seen yet. Boyd is more like a lottery ticket prospect in this deal. He’s a speed-first prospect who can change the game when he reaches base. The outfielder is averaging nearly a stolen base every two minor league games in his short career.
