Holloway was a popular figure in the indie wrestling community. Reports indicate he was shot in the head and leg during an altercation with another man.
Police found him in the Point Breeze area after hearing gunshots.
Walter Holloway’s Murder Believed To Have Stemmed From Altercation On The Day Before His Death
According to the South Philly Review, officers on patrol heard shots being fired around 10:30 PM. They discovered Holloway bleeding on a sidewalk shortly after. He was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead around 11:00 PM.
“We are getting some information that these two individuals – the shooter and the victim – may have been involved in a previous altercation as recently as yesterday, and may have escalated into the shooting today,” an officer told 6abc.
Police also retrieved a pair of shell casings next to Holloway’s body, suggesting his assailant fired from close range.
Investigators have been speaking to residents near the scene and had been trying to obtain footage from surveillance cameras as of a few days ago.
No arrests have been reported so far.
