Red Sox Predicted To Steal Projected $255 Million Star From Hated Rival Read more at:

The best free agent left on the market is Baltimore Orioles ace Corbin Burnes. Burnes is projected to sign a deal worth north of $250 million, per Jon Heyman of the New York Post.

The Orioles ace has posted ERAs of 2.92, 3.39, 2.94, 2.43, and 2.11 over the last five years, respectively. He’s consistently been one of the best pitchers in baseball from his days in Milwaukee to his one year in Baltimore.

FanSided’s Michael Brakebill recently predicted Burnes would bolt from the Orioles this winter. Brakebill predicts Burnes will sign a massive deal with the uber-aggressive Boston Red Sox.

“The Boston Red Sox come to mind because they have shown the aggressiveness needed to compete in 2025 and beyond. They went all-in for Juan Soto, missed, and followed that up with a blockbuster trade of ace Garrett Crochet,” Brakebill wrote. “I predict they will sign Burnes because they haven’t spent big free-agent dollars yet. Another significant move is coming, and landing Burnes means the Red Sox’s former 1 and 2 pitchers, Tanner Houck and Kutter Crawford, become their 3 and 4, giving the Red Sox one of the best rotations in baseball.”

Boston has a real shot to steal Burnes from the Orioles. The Red Sox are reported to be one of the more aggressive teams in free agency. Unlike the New York Yankees, New York Mets, and Los Angeles Dodgers, the Red Sox haven’t spent much money yet.

Burnes is set to land a massive deal in the coming weeks and it wouldn’t be shocking to see him land with the Red Sox.
