🚨 BOMBSHELL : Cowboys may have just uncovered a hidden weapon — a 6’4”, 240-pound UDFA rookie is already turning heads and threatening to shock the entire NFC East with a matchup nightmare nobody saw coming, a sleeper story that could explode fast 👇👇👇

As expected, the Dallas Cowboys took care of their defense in the 2026 NFL Draft. Even though America’s Team already came in as one of the scariest offenses in the league, Jerry Jones still decided to add more weapons for Dak Prescott on Day 3.

Michael Trigg from Baylor was signed as an undrafted free agent UDFA, but before the draft, some analysts saw him as a potential top 100 pick. He wasn’t drafted due to maturity concerns, but the only ones that can help with that now are the coaches around him.

Baylor Bears tight end Michael Trigg

Cowboys insider and film analyst Bryan Broaddus on 105.3 The Fan said opposing secondaries may fear Trigg’s size and catching abilities. From what Broaddus claims, it looks like Trigg will have a real shot at making the 53-man roster.

“At 6′ 4″, 240, he is a matchup problem. He does a really fine job at tracking the ball, securing the catch. He’ll extend his hands in order to make the reception. He does a really good job at using his length in order to make those receptions. He can make the contested catches that tight ends are required to do.”

Dallas Cowboys undrafted TE Michael Trigg has a great chance to make 53-man roster

In Trigg’s last season with Baylor, he snagged 50 catches for 694 yards and six scores. He finished second on the team in receiving yards and was one of the lone bright spots in the Bears’ abysmal receiving game.

He can be a threat on seam routes and be a nightmare to tackle in the open field. If he can show the same strides he did at Baylor, the Cowboys would have gotten a massive steal.

How he went undrafted is baffling, but Dallas may have landed a hidden gem. The concerns appear to be more about maturity than anything serious, and if the coaching staff can help him grow in that area, this could prove to be a savvy pickup. The athleticism and catching ability all point to a potential starting tight end. If he puts everything together, look out.

The Cowboys’ tight end room needs work behind Jake Ferguson, and Ferguson underwhelmed last season after signing a big extension.

The hope is that Brevyn Spann-Ford builds on an impressive Year 2, but former second-round pick Luke Schoonmaker hasn’t made a lot of noise in his three years as a pro. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent in 2027, but if Brian Schottenheimer likes what he sees from Trigg in OTAs and training camp, some tough cuts may have to be made.

Trigg has the pass-catching chops and size to create mismatches, and Broaddus expects him to get a real opportunity to prove himself.
